PRODUCT MANAGER

Location: Houston, TX

Role and Responsibilities

Purpose:

The Product Manager is responsible for the product/service planning and execution throughout the Product Lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with TS, sales, marketing and operations to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager also ensures that the product/service supports the company’s overall strategy and goals. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Owns specific product lines and market segments. Develops and implements strategies for both.
  • Determines customer and market needs and gather market intelligence regarding operators, competitors, prospects and industry trends
  • Develops business cases, including revenue / margin forecasts and user requirements, for new product and service offerings based on market research and intelligence
  • Manages existing product lines through entire product lifecycle, including discontinuation, ensuring company revenue and margin goals are achieved for responsible product lines and provides short-term and long-term forecasts
  • Obtains and analyzes relevant market data to determine product market share and other key metrics
  • Supports Sales as a Technical Expert attending customer meetings, facilitating trainings, and regularly providing product and services updates.
  • Supports the development of case studies, white papers, conference papers, and success stories
  • Liaisons with Marketing for presentations, brochures, documentation, videos and other communications as needed
  • Works with and supports the product development teams ensuring new products deliver on market needs / user requirements and existing products remain differentiated in the market. 
  • Leads and manages product launches by developing time-integrated plans with TS, Marketing, Brand, Sales and Operations
  • Develops pricing strategies and Go-to-Market plans for responsible product lines
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Educational Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other technical discipline or relevant technical experience
  • Master's degree in Science or Business Administration preferred


Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the mid-stream Oil and Gas industry, preferably in ILI and Integrity Management
  • 3 - 5 years' experience in product management preferred
  • 5 years' experience in sales or marketing preferred
  • Proven ability to lead and influence cross functional teams without formal authority.
  • Strong technical background
  • Experience collecting and analyzing data to develop short and long-term strategic plans
  • Proven track record of demonstrating excellent inter-personal and presentation skills including presenting to large audiences

 

Additional Information

  • Advanced understanding of MS Office i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint
  • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Project or equivalent project management software
  • Basic understanding of collaboration software such as SharePoint and Teams

 

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

  • Constantly work in a general office environment
  • Occasionally work in the shop/field environment and outdoor weather conditions
  • Frequent domestic travel
  • Frequent international travel
  • Occasionally lift/carry weight up to 20 lbs./ 22.75 kg
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for lengths of time, over 90 minutes
  • Occasionally drive, climb ladders and stairs, up to 30 minutes
  • Occasionally bend, crouch, kneel and crawl
  • Occasionally use manual hand dexterity
