WAREHOUSE & LOGISTICS SPECIALIST


Location: Houston, TX

Career Level: Associate

Role and Responsibilities

Purpose:

This position coordinates and participates in the timely determination and order of parts as required for project preparations and ensure on-time material availability

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain oversight of incoming items from different global locations to consolidate and resolve related issues
  • Pro-actively escalate unforeseen delays and changes and communicate them both internally and to affected stakeholders
  • Create a culture of customer service, ownership, participation and urgency
  • Ensure provision of project parts to preparation teams / staging areas in accordance with project schedules
  • Maintain accurate inventory by recording and tracking all items received or distributed via appropriate computer software program / ERP system
  • Provide coverage for Service Parts Counter
  • Participate in various project meetings for upcoming projects (e.g. ILI-Run/ etc.), providing status updates
  • Actively contribute to and influence other associates in maintaining a safe, clean work environment and displaying a positive team spirit / attitude
  • Contribute in inventory optimization and participate in permanent inventory count
  • Other duties as assigned 
Qualifications and Educational Requirements

 

Education

  •  Associate´s degree in a technical field, or High School Diploma


Work experience

  • Experience in the area of inventory management and material disposition
  • Minimum 3 years warehouse; distribution, or supply chain experience
  • Good understanding of technical drawings/ labels etc.
  • Strong knowledge MS Office Suite: Word/Excel/ Outlook/ etc.
  • Good knowledge in using an ERP-System
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems and equipment
  • Certified to operate forklift/crane and other shop equipment in safe and efficient manner
  • Knowledge of the operation of power/mobile equipment; may require additional training and/or certification on additional power equipment


Physical

  • Ability to see for purposes of reading instructions, labels, and other printed matter for the safe operation of equipment
  • Ability to operate computer, calculator, copy machine, telephone, overhead crane, forklift, and other office and shop equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ability to routinely lift/carry office supplies and inventory parts weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend and stoop to access parts and equipment
