Role and Responsibilities


The Area Business Development Manager is responsible for developing new business and increasing company revenue for NDT Global within a specific geography or territory. They must research, target and identify emerging prospects to create business opportunities and develop new relationships in order to close new business. 



  • Presents sales and technology information to clients in-person
  • Develops territory plans prioritizing leads and opportunities
  • Researches markets and new prospects
  • Prepares, plans, and develops meetings and presentations
  • Connects with customers virtually, by phone, or online meeting platform
  • Updates CRM with prospect's information, sales contacts, meeting minutes, and tasks
  • Attends internal sales meetings and sales development training
  • Gains required approvals from Leadership and Management on generated quotes and proposals
  • Liaises with various stakeholders in NDT Global operations including Project Management, Technical Services, Scheduling and Data Analysis to ascertain opportunity feasibility
  • Travels to and from customer locations, driving, flying where no other tasks are possible
  • Administrative tasks, booking travel, completing expenses
  • Enters data into various NDT Global systems to complete PD005 process including CRM, Pictor, Navision, SAS Master, SharePoint
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications and Educational Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred; or equivalent work experience

Work experience

  • Three years of technical sales experience or 5 years of related industry experience is required
  • Two years of experience in Non-Destructive Testing, Midstream Pipeline Industry and/or the In-line Inspection Industry is preferred
  • Demonstrated successful technical sales experience within the Oil & Gas, Data Science, or NDT Inspections is preferred

Additional information

  • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Dynamics CRM or equivalent CRM
  • Basic understanding of collaboration software such as SharePoint and Teams 
  • Ability to travel frequently
  • Ability to work effectively within a defined sales structure and company guidelines

Physical Requirements

  • Sedentary strength demands include exerting up to 10 pounds occasionally or negligible weights frequently
  • Sitting most of the time
  • Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting and talking
  • Frequently requires standing, fine dexterity, sitting and handling
